How Are Vinyl Banners Shipped?

When shipping mesh and vinyl banners, printers carefully roll and pack them into durable boxes. Larger sizes require folding to fit standard box limits.
Read on to learn how we package and ship vinyl banners step by step.
How Vinyl Banners Are Shipped to Ensure Protection

Printers use sturdy containers to secure banners and keep them damage-free during shipping. Here’s how we prepare and ship vinyl banners at NorthCoast Banners, whether you’re ordering sports team banners, trade show banners, or shade cloth banners.
Fold, Roll, and Wrap
After printing your mesh and vinyl banners using advanced large-format digital printers, we add hems and grommets, pole pockets, wind slits, or custom finishes.
Then, we prepare them carefully for shipment:
- Small Banners (2’ x 3’ to 4’ x 4’): We roll the banners along the shorter side to fit inside our standard shipping boxes.
- Medium to Large Banners (4’ x 8’ to 8’ x 20’ or bigger): We fold the banners once or twice before rolling, since bigger banners won’t fit properly in boxes shorter than 48 inches unless folded first.
- Oversized Banners: We can ship oversized banners in longer boxes (up to 72 inches), with extra fees depending on the size.
To protect the graphics during transit, we roll the banners with the printed side facing inward to prevent rubbing against the inside of the box.
Put Inside Durable Containers
We use robust corrugated cardboard boxes, which are lightweight but strong enough for safe shipping. They’re also stackable and simple for carriers to handle.
Some printers may use cardboard tubes to add structure and maximize protection.
Hand Off to a Carrier
NorthCoast Banners works with reliable major carriers in the U.S. to deliver your banners securely to your doorstep.
We offer multiple shipping methods, including:
- Ground (Standard Shipping)
- 3-Day Shipping
- 2-Day Shipping
- Next Day
- Next Day Early
- Saturday Delivery
Your location and shipping option determine delivery time. Standard U.S. ground shipping often takes 2 to 5 business days, depending on destination. We ship internationally and provide a custom quote for international orders.
Pro Tip: If you’re on a tight deadline, choose an expedited shipping option to receive your order within 1 to 2 business days after printing and shipment. We provide same-day quotes for rush requests to help you plan ahead effectively.
Provide a Tracking Number
After shipping your order, we’ll give you a tracking number so you can keep track of your package.
And that’s it! Your banner will be on its way and arrive looking sharp, ready for display. Be sure to put it back in its original container for safe storage after use.
A Quick Note: Production time is separate from shipping time. Printers need to review and approve the design, print your artwork, add finishes, and package the order. Shipping time starts once the carrier receives the banner.
Quick Tips for Faster Shipping

Working against the clock? Follow these tips for a seamless printing and shipping process:
- Submit a ready-to-print artwork for fast proofing. Your printer will be able to streamline printing if you provide a crisp and clear design in the correct file format and dimensions. Vector images (PDF, AI, SVG, EPS) are the best formats for banner printing.
- Provide clear instructions and respond fast. Tell your printer exactly how you want the design to look. Reply fast to clarifications or proof approvals to avoid communication delays.
When you do these steps, we can complete your banner project smoothly and send it to the carrier without hold-ups.
