With all the vampires, werewolves, shifters and fairies lurking in the shadows in the advent of Halloween, you would be justified for thinking that Full Bleeds is just another reference to blood-suckers and Halloween horrors.
But at Northcoast Banners, full bleeds has a markedly different connotation.
Here’s how it works. Ideally, your banners should set the content fully inside a white margin, or, inside the ‘live area.’ The gap remains between the live area, or the edge of the printing plate and the edge of the poly (at the web) or the plate gap (at the repeat). We prefer 1/2” to ¾” gap on all sides of your roll banner design.
When design flaws occur with design elements protruding into the margin beyond the live area, we will work with the designer to eliminate the flaw.
‘Full bleeds,’ therefore, is a reference to designs that require no gap between instances of banners, or no white margin on all four sides.
At Northcoast Banners, we print full bleeds on a case-by-case basis. When you submit your artwork, we will trim the outer edges of roll banners by allowing for at least 1” of margin space to ensure a safe and accurate trim that will elegantly complete your banner.
